Historiques 222, Encased for eternity, marked by a cross

Beauty is timeless when it’s done right. The Historiques 222 model marks the return of a legendary timepiece, the symbol of an era and a watershed in the history of Vacheron Constantin. Welcome to a world where the tiniest details make the most significant difference.

THE RETURN OF AN ICON

For vintage watches collectors, 222 is no ordinary number: it is the legendary timepiece launched in 1977 for the 222nd anniversary of the Maison. The watch’s bold design marked a turning point in Vacheron Constantin's stylistic evolution into the world of "sporty-chic" watches. At the crossroads of sports and luxury, the sporting codes are integrated within a timepiece with taut lines and sharp angles, yet consistently elegant. The Historiques 222 is a contemporary reinterpretation of the 70s' "Jumbo" model.

A CONTEMPORARY REINTERPRETATION

The search for beauty and excellence went into every detail of this rebirth. A glance at the 37 mm diameter case reveals an elegant gold-toned dial with straight hour-markers and baton-type hands that turn luminescent in the dark. The case, adorned with a Maltese cross emblem at 5 o'clock, has an openworked back to reveal the new-generation in-house Calibre 2455/2 featuring an oscillating weight redesigned for this model. All in all, this iconic watch is an elegant, sporty timepiece, offering optimal precision with a level of finishing just as thorough as the original model.
